srs designer diet

An ARC honest review for Henrey Press Books via NetGalley.

The third book in the Red Carpet Catering mysteries.

Red Carpet Catering are in New York, catering for a movie set in a hotel that is closed for refurbishment.

After attending a debut fashion show by designer friend, Sienna Wentworth in a night club.  Penny gets a late night call from Max Madison, who had been modelling for Sienna’s show that night, asking for help and then she hears a gun shot and the line goes dead!

Penny, with Joey race to where Max said he was.  Only to find Max has gone, but another model from that nights show called Christian is…shot dead.  On leaving the building Penny is attacked and Joey chases the attacker, firing his gun.

Joey is suspended for discharging his weapon outside his jurisdiction, and takes off. Leaving Penny on her own to investigate what Max has got himself into and to get him out of it…if she can.

Can Penny sift through the information to find Max and the killer…before she becomes the next victim?

I have enjoyed all three of Penny Sutherland’s Red Carpet Catering Mysteries.  They have a good set of characters, are well plotted and written.

4 Stars****

*********

Penelope’s life revolves around cooking and keeping her Red Carpet Catering business afloat, and she’s just landed a hearty new job for her and her staff. Just when Penelope thinks life couldn’t be sweeter, a panicked late-night phone call from Max, her best friend’s brother, ends abruptly with shots fired on his end.

The next morning, a handsome model and club promoter turns up dead, and when the police serve up Max as their main suspect, Penelope risks it all to prove his innocence (and find him before the police do). With her relationship as sturdy as a soup sandwich and her own life being threatened, it’s up to Penelope to find the truth before anyone else is eighty-sixed.
