ARC honest review for Poisoned Pen Press (Bristish Library Crime Classics Books) via NetGalley.

The first in the classic crime series by Miles Burton (aka John Rhode…real name Cecil John Charles Street), introducing Desmond Merrion, a gentleman of independent means, who loves solving puzzles.

High Eldersham is a small village in the back waters of East Anglia, where strangers are given a cold shoulder.  When the local foreigner, local pub landlord is found murdered, the Chief Constable calls in Scotland Yard to investigate.  In turn Inspector Young calls in Desmond Merrion to help him out with the bizarre goings on within the area.

I love these classic mysteries that the British Library are releasing via Poisoned Pen Press.
